Signifance of 1st 10 days of Dhul-Hijjah

As-salamu-alaikum.

We all know that the Hajj has started and we will be celebrating the Eid at the end of the Hajj insha-allah. The best act of worship is to perform the Hajj if we are physically and financially able to do so (as soon as we can). Following deeds are highly recommended for all of us that not going to Hajj:

1. Fasting: Fast first 10 days which means from now until Eid day. The most important day to fast is on the the Day of Arafah.

The Messenger of Allah (p.b.u.h.) said: “No servant (of Allah Most High) fasts one day in the way of Allah, except that Allah Most High removes his face from the fire because of it (the distance of traveling) seventy years.” (Bukhari and Muslim).

Muslim narrated from Abu Qutaadah that the Prophet (p.b.u.h.) said: “Fasting the Day of Arafah will be credited with Allah by forgiving one’s sins of the previous year and the
following year.”

Hadith Qudsi: “Fasting is for Me, and it is I who give reward for it."
Only Allah knows what reward Allah will give for fasting.

With the day-light-saving this year, fasting hours are not as many as it was During Ramamdan :)

2. at-Takbeer (saying: Allahu-Akbar) and adh-Dhikr (remembrance of Allah, the Most High) in these (ten) days, because of the saying of Allah in Soorah al-Hajj verse 28: “…And mention the name of Allah on the appointed Days…

So please recite as much as you can:
  • Allahu-Akbar, Allahu-Akbar; Laa-ilaaha-ill-Allah Wallaahu-Akbar, Allahu-Akbar; Wa-lillaahil-hamd.
  • Takbeer (Allahu-Akbar) and Tahmeed (al-hamdu-lillaah) and Tasbeeh (Subhaan-Allah)

3. Ask for Forgiveness (Repentence) for your sings and stay away from disobedience.
In general, seeking Allah's forgiveness at this time is also encouraged. This means more than just a verbal expression of sorrow for past misdeeds. It also requires a firm resolution to avoid making the same mistakes in the future by giving up bad habits and behavior while sincerely turning to Allah.

4. Doing plenty of voluntary (Nafl) righteous deeds of worship like prayer, charity, Jihad, reciting Quran, commanding what is good and forbidding what is evil, and other deeds like this. Verily they are of those deeds which are multiplied in these days.

5. The Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.) said: “If you see the Hilaal (new moon) of Dhul-Hijjah, and any one of you wants to make a sacrifice, then he should not cut (anything) from his hair and his nails.”

After what has been mentioned, it is fitting that every Muslim, male and female, take advantage of these days by obeying Allah, the Most High, remembering Him, thanking Him, fulfilling all the obligatory duties, and staying far away from the prohibited things. He must take full advantage of this season, and the open display of Allah’s gifts to attain the pleasure of his Lord.

Surely, Allah, the Most High is the One who grants success, and He is the Guide to the Straight Path. And may the blessings of Allah, the Most High, and Peace be upon Muhammad and his family and companions.

Please Reflect on Islam

When you walk in the road, you see nice buildings, road, shopping mails etc;
When you are at home, you see computers, TV, nice paintings.
NONE of these just appears all of a sudden. With almighty Allah's blessings, human
used the given intelligence to build these.

Now let's look at a similar view:
We have trees, seas, sun, moon, solar system , air around us.
Did they just appear all of a sudden ? Who created them ?
We human born from a tiny blood clot, become baby, teen, old and die.
This process just happens ?
Who designed this flawless system ?

If you think with an open mind, Nothing can be just created by itself.
Don't take everything from granted.
There are just a small number of examples
that proves Allah the almighty have created the perfect world around us.

Do you think our best scientific team can create even a tiny creature like a "FLY" ?
No they can't.
Can someone make a fly, give life, and make it live ?
No oone can except Allah. Allah Akbar (Allah is Great).

If you think all these , you will know "There is NO god BUT Allah".
May Allah bless us and show us the right path.

Aameen.

Laylat al-Qudr

As-salamualaikum All,

Back in Bangladesh/India/Pakistan, we did observe Laylat al-Qudr on 26th night. But, according to authentic information, Laylat al-qudr is found in the last 10 nights in Ramadan. Praying on Laylat al-qudr is better than praying 1000 months which is 83 years of praying !!!

So, I hope you all can understand the importance Laylat-al-Qudr and try to do as much night prayers, reading quran , duas in the remaining nights in Ramadan this year insha-allah.

Finally, I wanted to share a very important dua that I leaned this year. Please recite it as much as you can at night times:

Aisha radhiya Allahu `anha, that she said: “O Messenger of Allah! What if I knew which night Lailatul-Qadr was, then what should I say in it?” He said.- “Say.- (Allahumma innaka ‘affuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘annee.)

Meaning:
“O Allah You are The One Who pardons greatly, and loves to pardon, so pardon me.”. [at-Tirmithi and Ibn Majah with a Sahih Isnad]

JazakAllah Khair

Importance of Fazr and Esha prayer in Jamaat

Just mentioning few Hadith that shows how important for Muslim is to attend the Fajor and Isha pryaer in Jammat. May Allah help us to understand the importance of it and try our best to join the Jamaat.

Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said,

"If ppl knew the reward of Isha and Fajr prayers in jamaat,
they would come to offer them even if they had to crawl."

Bukhari

Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said,"No prayer is harder for the hypocrites than the Fajr and the Isha prayers."
Bukhari 1.626

`Uthman bin `Affan reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah saying: One who performs Isha’ prayer in congregation, is as if he has performed Salat for half of the night. And one who performs the Fajr prayer in congregation, is as if he has performed Salat the whole night.

[Muslim]

“Angels come to you in shifts by night and by day. They meet at salaat al-fajr and salaat al-‘asr, then those who had stayed with you at night ascend, and are asked by the One Who knows better than they: ‘How did you find My servants?’ They say, ‘We left them when they were praying, and we came to them when they were praying.’” (Reported by al-Bukhaari, al-Fath, 2/33).

As-salamu Alaikum.
I recently realized the issues with Riba. There are lot of references from Quran and Sunnah regarding why Riba is Haram and we should avoid it. My goal is to complete the following steps very soon to stay away from Riba:

1. Student Loan and Car Loan : Pay it off so that you don't pay interest on it. Ask
for forgiveness from Allah for the past interests I have paid.

2. Open an Interest free Checking account. Whatever "interest" I have received, give it charity and poor/needy people.

3. Use a Credit card, but never miss any payments and pay in Full Insha-allah to avoid any
interest payment to the credit card company.

5. If you buy a house in the future, go with Islamic Bank to avoid the "Riba" issues.

Jazakumullah Khair.

Four characters will be a hypocrite

The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "Whoever has (the
following) four characters will be a hypocrite, and whoever has one of the
following four characteristics will have one characteristic of hypocrisy
until he gives it up. These are:

(1) Whenever he talks, he tells a lie;
(2) Whenever he makes a promise, he breaks it;
(3) Whenever he makes a covenant, he proves treacherous;
(4) Whenever he quarrels, he behaves impudently
in an evil insulting manner."

(See Hadith No. 33 Vol. 1)

Question : Can we draw pictures ?

The following Hadith Will answer it.

Hadith:

Ibn `Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Those who draw pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection; and it will be said to them: `Breathe soul into what you have created.'''
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Commentary: We learn from this Hadith that drawing pictures of humans, animals and all those things that have a soul in them is a great sin and is liable to heavy punishment. If you have drawn pictures, please sincerely repent to Allah (swt), destroy your drawings, and don't do it in the futures.

Goal of this blog
